For homes with existing solar PV
If you already generate solar energy, S2400 AC can add battery storage on the AC side so available surplus can be stored for later household use.
The Sunpura S2400 AC is an AC-coupled home battery for existing solar and home energy systems. It is designed for households that already generate solar power and want to increase self-consumption without rebuilding the entire solar setup.
The S2400 AC works without direct PV input. Instead, it is integrated on the AC side of an existing energy system, making it a flexible retrofit option when you want to add battery storage to an installed solar setup.
If your existing solar panels already produce more energy than you can use at certain times, the S2400 AC gives you a practical route to store more of that energy and use it later. It is especially relevant for households looking for smart self-consumption, flexible expansion and app-based energy control.
Performance and savings depend on your solar system, tariff, household loads, installation conditions and compatible metering setup.
UK installation note: AC-coupled battery storage must be checked against the existing solar system, meter, consumer unit and UK grid-connection requirements. Installation may require a suitably qualified electrician.
Delivery availability, timing and any charges depend on the product, destination and current UK sales route. Check the product page and checkout where available, or the written order confirmation.

Compare your potential savings with a conventional solar installation and see how quickly the Sunpura S2400 could pay for itself.
Three intelligent technologies work together:
Use solar energy during the day and store surplus energy instead of feeding it into the grid at a low rate.
Buy electricity when prices are low and use stored energy when prices are higher.
The intelligent system automatically decides when it is most economical to charge or discharge.
Save more intelligently: unlock the highest potential savings by using stored solar energy strategically. Combine the Sunpura S2400 with a

S2400 AC is designed as an AC-coupled battery, making it suitable for systems where the solar panels and PV inverter are already installed.
Supported schedules can charge during lower-price windows and use stored energy later. Whether this saves money depends on the real tariff spread, losses and battery use.
With a compatible Smart Meter/CT setup and app, S2400 AC can use household import/export data for monitoring and supported consumption-responsive battery control.
Using supported electricity-price, solar-generation and consumption data, Sunpura can coordinate energy flows to increase self-consumption and give you more control. Actual savings depend on your tariff and usage.

Actual optimisation depends on system configuration, compatible metering devices, electricity tariff, consumption profile and local installation.
S2400 AC is intended for homes that already use a solar PV system and want to add storage on the AC side. The exact integration depends on the existing system, Smart Meter, meter location and local connection requirements.
First check whether your existing solar PV system and electricity-meter setup are suitable for AC-coupled battery storage.
A compatible Smart Meter can measure household consumption, surplus generation and grid import more accurately so battery control can respond appropriately.
After setup, the Sunpura app gives you clearer control over battery behaviour, consumption data and supported time-of-use tariff logic.
Note: the exact installation process can vary with the existing PV system, inverter, meter location, accessories and local connection requirements. Always follow the official product documentation and safety instructions. If you are unsure, use a qualified professional.

Answers on AC-coupled battery storage for existing solar PV systems – from retrofit and Smart Meter requirements to time-of-use tariffs, supported zero-export control, backup and warranty.
Both models use the same B2400 battery series and have similar AC-side storage, app and control logic.
S2400 also has two MPPT inputs for connecting suitable solar panels directly. S2400 AC has no direct PV input and is designed for AC-coupled retrofit to an existing solar PV system.
Yes. With an AC-coupled retrofit, your existing PV inverter can generally remain in service. S2400 AC adds storage on the AC side, so the solar installation does not need to be rebuilt.
Before purchase, check the electricity meter, metering solution, connection route, existing circuit and local requirements.
In an AC-coupled configuration, direct data communication with the existing PV inverter is normally not required. The existing inverter continues to feed solar energy into the household AC system.
A compatible metering system measures household import and export. Using those measurements, S2400 AC can charge and discharge according to demand. Check the exact integration for your system.
S2400 AC is designed for straightforward commissioning through its intended AC connection under suitable conditions. Positioning, connection and app setup can be simple where the household installation is appropriate.
Work in the consumer unit, installation of a Smart Meter with current transformers, fixed wiring, an additional circuit or a multi-phase configuration should be checked or carried out by a qualified electrician.
Yes. S2400 AC can also operate on the AC side without your own solar panels, for example with a suitable time-of-use electricity tariff.
The battery can charge during lower-price periods and make stored energy available later in the home. Available functions depend on the metering solution, operating mode, tariff data and system configuration.
S2400 AC is available in 2.4 kWh, 4.8 kWh, 7.2 kWh or 9.6 kWh configurations. The right size mainly depends on evening and overnight electricity use, daily solar surplus and any planned higher-consumption loads.
The system can be expanded with compatible B2400 battery modules up to 9.6 kWh. More capacity increases the amount of energy available, but does not automatically increase the Power Box output.
S2400 AC has an IP65-rated enclosure and can be used indoors or outdoors where the location meets the product requirements.
The installation location still needs a stable surface, adequate ventilation, suitable temperatures and protection from standing water, flooding, severe direct weather exposure and combustible materials as required by the documentation.
S2400 AC can store surplus energy from the existing PV system on the AC side and make it available later for household use. This can increase self-consumption and reduce grid import.
With a compatible metering system, the battery can adjust charging and discharging to current household demand. Depending on metering solution, operating mode and configuration, supported zero-export or low-export control may also be available.
With a compatible time-of-use or dynamic electricity tariff, S2400 AC can use lower-price periods for charging and make stored energy available during higher-price periods.
Depending on operating mode, supported electricity-price data, consumption, existing solar generation, weather data and state of charge can be used for planning. Actual savings depend on your tariff, consumption profile, available metering data and settings.
The figures describe different operating modes and should not be treated as equivalent:
The power that can actually be used depends on connection type, cabling, circuit protection, operating mode and local requirements.
A Smart Meter is not mandatory for every basic operating scenario. For precise response to whole-home consumption, self-consumption optimisation, supported zero-export control and certain smart operating modes, however, a compatible metering system is required or recommended.
In the UK, the appropriate CT or Smart Meter solution depends on your electricity meter and household installation. Check compatibility before purchase. Work inside the consumer unit should normally be carried out by a qualified electrician.
The Sunpura app is used for device setup, operating modes, schedules, power limits and energy-flow monitoring.
A stable Wi-Fi connection at the installation location is important for data synchronisation, remote monitoring and supported smart-control functions. S2400 AC also uses Bluetooth for local device setup.
S2400 AC can be planned for a three-phase home. For a coordinated multi-phase solution, however, phase allocation, separate circuits, a suitable three-phase metering system, firmware version and required accessories should be checked in advance.
Do not simply connect multiple units to the same circuit to add power. The specific design should be confirmed by technical support and a qualified electrician.
During a power cut, S2400 AC no longer supplies energy through its normal on-grid connection. Suitable appliances can, however, be powered from stored energy through the separate off-grid output.
Depending on system configuration, the off-grid output provides up to 2,400 W and a short peak of up to 3,600 W for five seconds. Runtime and suitable appliances depend on storage capacity, state of charge and the power draw of connected loads.
This does not automatically provide whole-home backup.
Eligible S2400 AC products have a 10-year limited warranty in accordance with the current warranty terms.
For a support or warranty enquiry, you will normally need the device model, serial number, valid proof of purchase, fault description and, where relevant, photos, videos or app screenshots.
Technical support will first assess the case remotely and then agree the appropriate next step, such as a software solution, repair, spare part or replacement, subject to the applicable terms.
